Ever found yourself in an important meeting, hesitating to speak up? Your self-talk plays a significant role in shaping how you present your ideas. During a strategic meeting, I experienced the impact firsthand. As the discussion flowed, my internal dialogue took over:

- "I haven't said anything."

- "They've said what I wanted to say."

- "It's too late. There's no point speaking now."

Your self-talk influences:

  1. What you say.

  2. Why you say it.

  3. How you say it.

  4. When you say it.

  5. How effective you are in influencing your audience to act.

The bigger impact? Your self-talk could either advance or limit your career and leadership growth. You might be holding yourself back from achieving the impact you desire.

With less than 15 minutes to go, I gained the inner courage to speak up. And that one moment of courage changed everything. My contribution was the missing piece that the team needed to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Although I wasn't speaking in the meeting, I was speaking the entire time. I had entertained self-talk that impacted whether I shared my ideas in the first place.

Silencing your voice can unintentionally hinder your team's progress and success. By changing the story that I was telling myself, I realized the power of self-talk in sharing impactful ideas that strategically advance the group's vision. Here's a Pro tip:
