3 Strategic Questions To Nail Your Next Leadership Presentation
Reading Time: 3 mins
Want your audience to remember your message? Go deep, not broad.
Delivering a memorable talk is about being strategic about your message.
To ensure your audience walks away with a clear value add, it's crucial to go deep with one idea, not broad with many ideas. The key to an impactful presentation experience lies in the first 60 seconds of your delivery.
From coaching leaders and executives on effective communication and public speaking, I've noticed a common challenge faced by leaders – the pressure to convey a lot in limited time. Busy schedules compound this issue, leading to less time to prepare and a tendency to cover multiple ideas. I've experienced this too. Sometimes, it feels like trying to hit the bullseye, but not quite hitting the target. 🎯
The downside? Your audience may struggle to recall the main message or purpose of the talk. Whether you're leading a team or overseeing a critical project, the temptation to overload a 60-minute meeting or talk with information is real. However, remember, time stretches to accommodate what you prioritize or fill it with.
💡Pro tip: Your audience's attention and time are your most precious resources. Make every moment count.
If you're a leader or executive looking to nail your next presentation, ask yourself three (3) coaching questions to get strategic on what matters most:
💡 1) What's the single idea I want my team or audience to leave with?
💡 2) What do I want them to think, feel, or do differently?
💡 3) If I had just 60 seconds (not 60 minutes), what key message would I share first?
In leadership communication, less is more. So, craft your next message with strategic clarity, precision, and impact.
